NURSERY
The nursery school is for age bands 3 ½ to 5 ½ years (Pre- kindergarten and Kindergarten classes).
The Duke Hall recognizes the importance of this critical stage in the child’s development and blends the Montessori teaching methods with national and proven international methods to bring out the best in children.
The Montessori Method
The Montessori Method of education is a specialized method of education introduced by Maria Montessori (1870 – 1952). The method provides children with mental stimulation, meaningful activities and opportunities to develop self esteem. Children are given the opportunity to become independent and care for themselves in a guided way.
The Montessori system recognizes the child as being highly sensitive and capable of intellectual absorption from the exposed environment. Towards this, children are introduced to themes and materials that aid accelerated development of the child’s intelligence. The Montessori Directress first observes and guides the child in the right path towards self discovery and in the right momentum.
The curriculum for the Montessori Method is woven around the Practical life, Sensorial Exercises, Mathematics, Language, Cultural and Creativity.
At the nursery classes, we involve the pupils in activities that encourage pupils to be independent and initiate interaction with others. We make them approach new experiences with confidence and be sensitive to the needs views and feelings of the other people while in different social situations.
